On Groups and Meetings

Why one might want to think about kinds of Groups and Meetings with regard to your Local of the League of Introverts:

After our first meeting of the League of Introverts, a participant shared that for him the meeting seemed a bit diffuse or that there wasn’t clarity of why we were there or having the meeting.

This sort of clarity is helpful both for groups and for meetings. Thinking about kinds of groups and meetings can help with that.

Additionally, having clarity of this sort can help instruct on what kinds of organizational and communication processes and policies might be helpful for inclusion and enactment by the particular group or within the particular meeting (or not).

This led our tiny focus group on the topic to come up with roughly the following ideas and possible recommendations:

Identified Axis of/or Kinds of LOI Groups –

1. Closed/Open

2. Collaborative and/or Study/Action/Interest Group or Sub-group.

3. Meta/Facilitative (A facebook group on the League of Introverts as a whole, or directly facilitative thereof, for example).
